Lead designer for OPM (Operations Performance Management) tools. My responsibilities included developing a research and
design strategy that facilitates use case development and product alignment across the GE business units. Product design
includes a company wide design system and implementation for enterprise mobile and web applications,
and marketing design for the website, trade shows, presentations and documentation.
Senior UX Designer

Lead designer for new product offerings, responsible for planning, facilitating and synthesizing cross business workshops,
research across multiple users and industries, developing concept journey maps for the future customer experience and designing
communication artifacts to drive understand within the business of the challenges, opportunities and gaps within the full product
life cycle.
Supported several GE business initiatives, notably providing user research and concept validation for a GE Nuclear Optimization tool,
field research for GE Aviation at Heathrow Airport Operations Center, and UX research for a ‘low code’ app development tool, which
informed acquisition of a startup company in this domain. Once acquired, I was responsible for the usability analysis of the acquired
technology, with the directive to merge the capabilities into the GE product suite.

UX Designer for early stage concept design and prototype development for Aviation, often managing 50/50 dual project loads,
whilst maintaining impeccable project delivery with high design standards.
Lead designer for Future Flight Deck Research, working with a cross disciplinary team across 3 continents to provide planning
and execution for design research and development. A use case study for this project is available here.
Lead designer for Airline Recovery Optimization, expanding and reimagining the information architecture, workflow and interaction
patterns of the tool to optimize and improve the overall experience of the product.

Other projects included facilitating workshops for internal and external business development, leading 'lean UX (aka 'fastworks')
design cycles for 'new product' co-creation with key partners including 'TNC' for Qantas, 'Component Risk Ratios'
for Fedex, 'Data Ingestion' and 'DIRO' for GE Aviation Systems.

18 month secondment as a liaison from GE Aviation to the new GE 'software center of excellence' (now GE Digital) in San Ramon.
Evangelised UX design, a new concept within GE, communicating design thinking processes through talks, mentoring and practise
resulting in it's inclusion as an indispensable tool in the product development life cycle.
Conducted research and created design concepts for Airline optimization tools, involving extensive
user interviews and airline research, concept ideation and design, and working with development teams to create fully
interactive prototypes to be used for internal demonstrations and sales purposes.

50/50 split between working on flight deck product development teams and the emerging technologies research group.
Responsible for creating design documents, executing technical processes, writing and
executing system tests, and managing customer satisfaction reviews for military and civil platforms.
Investigated and experimented with new flight deck technologies and overall flight management architectures. Completed various
field studies, including onsite Airline and airport operation research at Southwest HQ and DFW airport, and 737NG
Flight Deck training simulators. The field research fed directly into both new and current product requirements, proving invaluable
for product integrity, issue detection and requirement development.
